Community Impact Panels

United Way of Carlisle and Cumberland County

Local panels made up of approximately 50-60 volunteers from the community and the United Way of Carlisle & Cumberland County Board (representing all donors) make up our Community Impact Panels. They study agency budgets, audits, programs, goals and achievements each year along with our Community Needs Assessment. These volunteers work diligently to determine allocations for the coming year based on the assessments of our community needs, and the proposed partner agency program’s ability to meet that need.

For panelists the process takes a total of about two days. It includes attending an hour and half training in mid-September where they will learn about the process and meet with their fellow panel members to determine dates that work for everyone to conduct tours. Then the panelists will need six to eight hours for onsite tours, budget presentations, and funding recommendation meetings which occur mid-October through mid-November. It is a wonderful opportunity to learn more about the human service needs of our community and the programs that make a difference.

If you are interested in serving on a panel, sign up for the training on Tuesday, September 28 from 5:30-7 pm at Dickinson College’s Holland Union Building Social Hall:  Panel Training Sign Up!

If you cannot make the training, but still want to be a part of the process, please sign up and check the box that says you want to participate but cannot attend the training.

Thank you!
