R/C Theatres currently runs sensory friendly shows at their newest theatre, The Lexington Exchange Movies 12, located in California, MD.   The Carlisle Commons 8 will be the 2nd complex to offer this service and R/C Theatres is excited to partner with CPARC to be able to provide this service to the community.

R/C Theatres is a regional family-owned circuit of movie theatres based in Reisterstown, MD.  Founded in Baltimore in 1932, the company has undergone many changes including two major acquisitions of some of their top-grossing theatres by large chains such as Regal Cinemas and Carmike Theatres. R/C Theatres has a long history of successfully building, acquiring and operating theatres in the greater Mid-Atlantic area and now has 10 locations in Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and North Carolina, including the Carlisle Commons 8 in Carlisle, PA.

The Carlisle Commons 8 was originally built by R/C theatres in 1984 as a 3-screen complex; 5 screens were added in 1985.  A renovation to install stadium seating was done in the late 1990’s and the theatre was sold to Regal Cinemas in 2005.  R/C bought the theatre back in 2015 and again did another major renovation, this time converting all of the seating to reclining seats.  Additionally, new carpet and lighting was installed, and the lobby was painted with new graphics added, as well as new exterior signage being installed.  For show times and to buy tickets online, please visit
